Delegation Skills

One of the most difficult transitions for managers and leaders is making the shift from doing to leading. In the short term, it may be possible for you to get up earlier, stay later and allow work to encroach more into your personal time, in an effort to out-work the multiple demands that are piling up. However, this isn’t a sustainable – or desirable – way of working. And it isn’t effective leadership.

You might need to reassess how you are managing your time or really clarify your purpose and the priorities that feed into that. And, the chances are, you need to delegate.

But many of us have resistance to delegating and are reluctant to share our workload with others. Which means that many of us delegate ineffectively or fail to delegate at all, instead choosing to keep hold of everything ourselves. So, how can we break this pattern and start delegating effectively?

In this workshop, participants will: explore the benefits and obstacles related to effective delegation; identify what gets in the way for them personally and consider possible solutions; understand the role unconscious bias can play in the delegation process; and work with a 7 step process to support effective delegation.

Participants will leave the workshop with increased skills and practical tools so they can delegate confidently and effectively.
